Lions in African hospital link
A Budleigh-based charity is raising funds for a hospital in Swaziland with a monthly donation and much-needed items of equipment. Among the many charitable causes with which it is linked, Budleigh Salterton Lions Club has chosen to support the Good Shepherd Hospital near the town of Sitecki, Swaziland, in Southern Africa. The first weekend of July sees two events in Budleigh’s Public Hall organized by the Lions to benefit the Hospital. On Friday 3 July there will be cash bingo games from 6.30 pm when doors open, with eyes down at 7.30 pm. Entry costs £1 for 10 games and two fliers. A raffle and refreshments will also help to make the evening go with a swing. A mammoth jumble sale is being held the next day, Saturday 4 July. Admission costs 10p.
