Matisse at the Brook

Budleigh Salterton’s Brook Gallery is featuring ‘All That Jazz’, an exhibition of work by Henri Matisse (1869-1954). The exhibition runs from 19 May - 7 June 2009.

With work easily identified by its flat brilliant colour and fluid line, Henri Matisse is one of the great Masters of the 20th Century.

This selection of work based on some of Matisse's most prominent portfolios, including Jazz, Visages and Florilège des Amours de Ronsard, is described by the Gallery as “a series of stunning paper cut-out compositions referred to as the visual counterpart of jazz music.”
