Green Party in Budleigh Salterton

So, with would-be Chancellors, wannabe ministers and some rather desperate MPs starting to battle out their various corners in the media the UK General Election campaign is well underway with, so they say, a month to go before we are able to vote in a new government.

My humble blog has managed to profile some of the candidates, and now we'll be getting to meet some of them in the flesh as they set up stalls in a pre-election tour of our East Devon constituency.

First to burst on to the political stage in Budleigh are the Greens, who are holding a meeting on Wednesday 7 April 2010 at 7.30pm at The Temple Methodist Church Hall in Fore Street, opposite the Tourist Information Centre and Police Station.

This is a public meeting from 7.30pm – 9.00 pm, with tea and biscuits afterwards and the opportunity to meet members from the party and find out more about local and national Green Party policies. The Green potential parliamentary candidate for the General Election, Sharon Pavey, should also be present.

"We have Green Party members all over East Devon and there are likely to be people coming from Exmouth, Sidmouth, Honiton, Ottery and Axminster," says a spokesperson.
A Green Party street stall in Budleigh has also been arranged for Saturday 3 April from 10.00 am – 12 midday opposite Budleigh Wines (previously Threshers).

Further Green Party meetings in April 2010 are as follows:
Sat 10 April – stall in Sidmouth 10.00 am – 12.00 midday.
Sat 10 April – fundraising curry night 7.30 pm Twyford House, Sidmouth.
Sat 17th April - stall in Exmouth 10.00 am – 12.00 midday.
Sat 24 April - public (open lunch) meeting in Exmouth 11.00 am – 2.00 pm venue to be confirmed.
