Wheeling or walking with the Rotary Club: The Eighth Walk and Ride
The beautiful countryside around Budleigh Salterton often plays host to charity events, and the Rotary Club of Exmouth's Sponsored Walk and Ride has been a successful and enjoyable occasion for participants for almost a decade. This year's will take place on 9 May 2010, a sponsored 'family fun' charity event organised by the Rotary Club for walkers or cyclists wishing to raise funds for their favourite charity, club or good cause.
All adult entrants are invited to pay a minimum donation of £5 per walker/cyclist over the age of 15 and are encouraged to raise sponsorship money. You can use this opportunity to raise money for your Charity or Club and the Rotary Club will be happy to provide you with sponsorship forms.

The event is highly organised, with entrants being registered at the start at Bicton Arena.
"You can take part in a five, eight or 10 mile walk or the 14 mile cycle route then set out walking or cycling, at your own pace," says Exmouth Rotary Club.

The Walks start through the Bicton College Arboretum and end via picturesque Bicton Park Botanical Gardens. https://www.bictongardens.co.uk/ You can enjoy a picnic en-route and return to a welcome cup of tea.
Plant-lovers will find lots to admire on the way, like the beautiful dark red foliage of these acers.
Both “The Walk!” and “The Ride!” will take you through some of Devon’s finest scenery including the Woodbury Common's Pebblebed Heaths, recognised as nationally important wildlife habitats.
And then there are the lovely villages of Colaton Raleigh, East Budleigh and Otterton (pictured) to enjoy.
Finally, check in at the end to make sure they know you haven't got lost, congratulate yourself, and enjoy that cup of tea.
