Stars, music and fireworks at Bicton
Hannah Jewell, described as a singing sensation whose talent is clearly beyond her years, has already recorded a CD of classical music, and is now taking weekly lessons in London with Paloma Bruce, the lyric coloratura soprano from New Zealand.
Also singing in the concert will be Helen Evora, another up-and-coming Devon-based performer who has just joined English National Opera.
The programme will include popular numbers like the famous ‘Flower Duet’ by Delibes from the opera Lakmé and ‘Summertime’ from Gershwin’s opera Porgy and Bess.

Friday’s concert which begins at 6.30 pm has been described as “a fun packed classical music extravaganza for the whole family” with a spectacular firework finale to end at 10.30 pm. The event is one of a series of charity concerts which are benefiting Dream-A-Way http://www.dream-a-way.co.uk/ , the charity which provides holidays and outings for disabled people of all ages throughout the South-West of England.
